디 에디트 슨생님들이 갤럭시 S21 스펙에 대해서 말하는 영상을 번역해봤습니다. 예전에 한참 때도 스펙들을 좋아한다기보다는, 그저 테크 제품들 신상품이 어떻게 생겼고 뭘 할 수 있나 정도로만 알아왔던 사람인데, 요새는 나이가 들었나 더욱더 무감각해진 1인입니다. 그래도, 리뷰 해주시는 분들이 이렇게 깔끔하게 정리해주면 그래도 좀 더 잘 이해할 수 있어서 좋다는...
그래서 그런가, 테크 제품 스펙쪽으로는 아는 게 거의 없다 보니, (게다가 필자는 앱등이) 검색해보고 맞나 확인해보고 하느라 조금 더 걸렸습니다. 엑시노스, 화각, 밝기의 니트, 광각, 망원 카메라.......@_@................. 한글로 들어도 전혀 감이 안 오는 단어들이 많았고, 테크 관련한 단어들이 많다 보니 그저 폰은 사진 잘 찍히고 전화만 잘 되면 오케이야...라고 하는 꼰대 필자는 웁니다. ㅜㅜ
맥북, 아이패드, 아이폰을 쓴지 꽤 오래된 트리플 크라운 앱등이로서는 아직은 갤럭시로 넘어갈 일은 없지만, 요새 애플 하는 것 보면 답답해서 괜히 한번 더 본 것도 있습니다. 데헷. 그래도 아직 애플 호환성 못 잃어 !!! ㅜㅜ

-Last night, Samsung announced the lineup of Galaxy S21 ahead of last year's pace.
-It turnt out to be mostly true about the many of things from the rumor had been spread, so it makes the unpack event a little rigmarole.
-But surely, there are lots of people who are curious about it just because it's the first flagship model in 2021.
-Let me lay out specs of Galaxy S21 Series.
-The sales of Galaxy S20 has been really slow.
-Although Samsun didn't mention any word about their sales of it officially, the sales of S20 has been rather slack according to lots of various media several times.
-But it's hard to say the slack sales of S20 is solely because of itself.
-It was pretty bad timing when it had been released, because consumer sentiment and marketing was hitting bottom due to Covid.
-On the top of it, the series of Galaxy S20 was pretty expensive.
-The cheapest model of Galaxy S20 was $999USD.
-But in my opinion, Galaxy Z flip which was released on the same day was drawing more attention than S20 series.
-Just like last year, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21Plus, Galaxy S21Ultra -- total three models will be released.
-I can see what they did to adjust specs for lowering the price little due to last year's slack sales.
-Galaxy S21 and S+plus's specs are almost the same except the screen size.
-Let's check out the display.
-The smallest 6.2in screen of Galaxy S21, 6.7in screen of Galaxy S21+, they both support 2400 x 1080 display resolution which is known as FHD+.
-They have flat display with no edges.
-There's a huge gap between them and all of the last year's models(S 20) which support 3200x1440 display resolution.
-The display resolution was dropped.
-Galaxy S21 Ultra is the highest specs among the new products lineup.
-The display resolution is about the same as last year, 3200x1440.
-The interesting part is that the screen size is 6.8in which is very finely(0.1in) reduced from last year's item(6.9in)
-For better look, the edge display remains on the Ultra model.
-Even in the new lineup, Scan Rate was 120Hz which is the same as last year's lineup.
-Depending on the contents, It's the way that the scan rate will be adjusted into the best possible rate.
-But more than that, the brightness of them got so improved much.
-Frankly, Galaxy S20 was bright enough, but they got even brighter.
-Since we are using cellphones under many different circumstances, so it's better to have it brighter. Because we could see it more clearly under the sun light.
-The peak brightness of Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ is 1300nits and 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
-The peak brightness of Galaxy S21 Ultra is 1500nits and 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
-That means it is such a bright, clear and vivid screen.
-iPhone 12 Pro series has 1200nits peak brightness and 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
-The camera design is very unique. It looks almost like only cameras part was layered more.
-The design matter which about the growing number of cameras could have caused them mental anguish.
-Personally, I think it was not a bad try although it might have been either people like it or hate it depends on the color combination.
-They look more natural to have unity along the sides of them than the design covers only around the cameras.
-On the back of Galaxy S21 and S21+, there are triple rear cameras.
-Top to bottom go to 12MP Ultra-wide camera, 108MP Wide Camera, 10x10MP Telephoto camera
-The S21 & S21+ are getting a 10-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
-The Galaxy S21 Ultra has quad rear cameras
-They seem a lot only if you count those black 5 holes.
-The one of them is laser AF Sensor.
-And it has quad rear cameras -- Wide-angle: 12MP, main: 108-megapixel , Telephoto #1: 10MP and f/4.9, Telephoto #2: 10MP and f/2.4.
-The most outstanding thing about cameras' features is Samsung’s digital “Space Zoom” system then takes the magnification up to 100x.
-The S21 & S21+ offer Hybrid Optic 3X by using the difference in angle of view of the wide-angle and telephoto camera.
-It is an awkward wording. I think there's a catch.
-It means that from 1X up to 3X zoom, they use digital zoom only. Then, they switch a lense into a telephoto camera to use Optical zoom beyond 3X zoom.
-On the top of it, you can go up to Digital 30X zoom and it could minimize the quality damage by its software.
-Within two telephoto cameras rear the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the 10x digital zoom and 10x optical zoom effectively create 100x hybrid zoom together.
-One camera has a 3x optical zoom for photographing objects that are relatively close, while a second camera has a 10x optical zoom lens for extended magnifications
-So between those FOV(Field of View), the digital zoom has to be blend out.
-It achieves its (maximum) 100x zoom powered by its digital zoom.
-This feature was already on the previous model.
-In my opinion, it seems like a gimmick to have 100x zoom feature on the phone.
-Would it be really helpful on the phone to have 100x zoom feature or 100 million resolution ?
-Those Galaxy S series cameras are outstanding fundamentally, and you can take really good photos with them.
-I feel like satisfaction of users about cameras would get higher if they get some know-how of image treatment or better HDR performance continually.
-If they focus on fancy functions, it rather gets off the tack.
-In the same vein, the AI stabilizer activation function during taking a shoot of a distant subject. is newly added on S21 Ultra.
-When the user use higher zoom than 20x, AI catches its shakiness and so makes it clearly.
-I feel like it might reduce the field of view if AI corrects it. I will try to test it out when I get the product.
-The thing got my attention is that there's a 12-bit RAW file photo option in Samsung's Pro mode.
-Its night mode is also upgraded. It's possible to take a clear and natural shot even in much darker situation. It will be interesting to compare with a night mode of iphone.
-Will try it soon.
-It kinda feels little bit flat overall, because there's not much room to improve of cellphones.
-There's a fun part though.
-Samsung’s S Pen works with the new Galaxy S21 Ultra.
-This feels like a short cut for a tremendous hit.
-Feel like they pull out this as a wild card.
-Unlike Galaxy note series, it's not built-in purchase. So you might have to buy it separately.
-They will sell some cases only for S Pen.
-For Domestic(Korea) models, it has 5 nanometers exynos 2100 processor and 25W rapid charging system.
-The Galaxy S21 will be released with 4 different colors.
-The grey, Bright white, violet (the main color that they are focusing), and pink -- total of 4.
-S21+ is similar with S2.
-Black instead of grey, Silver instead of white. But violet, pink are the same.
-Galaxy S21 Ultra will be released into 2 colors only ; Black and Silver.
-The Ultra model gets all the high specs. On the other hand, the S21 and S21+ seem like they tried hard to lower the price of them.
-With the S21, the price is at $799. So relatively that’s a lot less than last year’s models.
-Not only the price of S21, but also the price of rest models are also reduced.
-No charger, no earphones with Galaxy S21: Samsung does an Apple.
-I am really curious how consumers would take this.
-I am going to give a more detailed review of it after purchasing it. (Already bought it)

+ 카메라 개수 얘기할 때, 자막에서 The Galaxy S21 Ultra has quad rear cameras. 이렇게 얘기했습니다. 여기서 나오는 quad 부분에 대해서 좀 더 말하고 싶었습니다. 흔히들 듀얼, 트리플, 콰드... 개수 셀 때 영어로 이렇게도 세는 것들을 들어보셨을 겁니다. 그런 걸 튜플이라고 하는데, 튜플(tuple)은 셀 수 있는 수량의 순서 있는 열거라고 합니다. 무슨 말이야 싶으시겠지만, 의미로는 '~배의, ~쌍의, ~겹의'로 생각하시면 됩니다.
그래서 보통 두 쌍둥이는 아시는데, 세 쌍둥이부터 영어로 모르시는 분들이 꽤 있습니다. 영어로 세 쌍둥이는 triplets, 네 쌍둥이는 quadruplets, 다섯 쌍둥이는 quintuplets, 여섯 쌍둥이는 sextuplets, 일곱 쌍둥이는 septuplets, 여덟 쌍둥이는 octuplets, 아홉 쌍둥이는 nonuplets, 열 쌍둥이는 decaplets.. 이렇게 나가는 겁니다. 하지만 필자도 quadruplets까지는 입 밖으로 잘 나오지만 그 이상은 잘 안 나오는 게 사실입니다.
+ 우리의 삼행시, 4 행시 이런 n행시들 요새 많이 하기도 하죠. 근데 그걸 영어로 뭐라고 할까요? 바로 acrostic poem이라고 합니다. 사실 저도 이건 몰랐던 단어라... 찾아봤습니다. An acrostic poem is a poem where certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase. -- 이합 체시는 시의 형식의 한 종류로, 각 구의 첫글자를 조합하면 다른 뜻의 단어나 표현이 나타나는 것을 말한다. 라고 하니 n행시 맞네요! 이합체시 / 혹은 세로드립.... 사실은 n행시로 많이 쓰이는 단어가 영어에도 있다니 신기할 따름입니다.
