유튜브의 알고리즘의 소개로 만나서(?) 알게 된 과나님의 망태할아버지 노래와의 fall in love.....
그 이후로도 과나님의 영상 잘 보고 있었는데, 최근 영상을 보았더니 아니 과나님 거 지금 고양이 치트키 쓰시는 겁니까? 너무 하시네... 너무너무! 대단하시네! 아흑. 이건 안 볼 수가 없다. 과나님의 구독자의 귀여운 고양이, 살찐이를 위한 생일 축하 노래를 만들어주신 과나님의 영상을 번역해봤습니다. 의역이 다수입니다.... (오역도 있을수 있습니다.)만 고양이가 귀여우니깐 봐주시길 바랍니다. 유튜브 영상 썸네일부터 너무 귀여워버리다니....... 많은 텍스트와 효과는 배제한다. 과나님은 이번 영상의 썸네일은 오직 고양이 사진으로 승부하셨다!!!
영상부터 보고 오시길 바랍니다. (예전부터 과나님 영상을 번역하고 싶었었는데, 찰진 어감이 영어로 번역이 안될까 두려워서 미루고 있었지만, 아 거참 고양이는 반칙이지!! 바로 시작함.)
오히려 짧은 영상에 노래이지만 번역은 더 어려웠다는 사실... 의역도 많이 하고, 노래이다 보니 라임을 나름 맞춰보려고 했으나, 쉽지 않습니다. 하하. 그렇지만 해보았습니다.

+ 특히 숫자 같은건, 우리나라 숫자를 말씀하는 대로 그대로 번역하려고 했더니, 너무 숫자가 구질구질한 숫자가 돼서, 그냥 의미상으로 엄청나게 이니깐 : one, ten, hundred, thousand, million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, quintillion정도로 보기 좋고, 라임도 맞게 해석해보았습니다. 그러니, 반대로 저 영어 단어들을 그대로 또 우리나라 숫자로 번역하면, 하나, 십, 백, 천, 백만, 십억, 조, 천조, 오천경........... 이렇게 됩니다.
+We've been through thick and thin. -->이 표현도 잘 써보고 싶었습니다. 뭔가 이 노래의 메인 포인트 같은 가사 부분이어서도 그렇고, 실제로 영어에서 많이 쓰는 표현이기 때문이었습니다. '좋을 때나 아닐 때나, 변함없이'라는 표현의 through thick and thin을 써서 우리는 행복하고, 슬프기도 했지~라는 의미를 대변해봤습니다. 뭔가 우리나라 결혼식 주례사에서 많이 쓰는 이런 '기쁠 때나 슬플 때나, 변함없이 같이 잘 살겠습니까?'표현을 번역하면 'Will you stick together through thick and thin?'가 되지 않을까 싶다.
+tsk... 가끔 이 뜻이 뭐냐고 묻는 학생들이 있었다. Tsk tsk Tsk.. tsk의 의미는 '쯧(혀 차는 소리, 불승인, 비난을 나타냄), 쯧쯧 혀를 차다, 못마땅해하다'라고 생각하시면 됩니다.
